Jesus said in John 18 :9-10
" I did not lose a single one of those you have given me."
Then the scripture goes on to say that Simon Peter drew a sword and slashed off the right ear of Malchus the high priest but Jesus said to Peter..
"Put your sword back into it's sheath ..shall I not drink from the cup of the suffering the Father has given me?"
I love the part of the scripture where Jesus says, "I did not lose a single one of those you have given me.."
As Jesus is in the world so are we ...1John 5:14-15
So as Jesus ...we do not have to lose a single one that was given to us either..
We do not have to lose a single one of our children to the secular world , we do not have to lose loved ones to the plans of the enemy. We do not have to lose peace, health, joy, finances.. or anything else The Lord had given us.
The enemy comes to steal kill and destroy...
But Jesus came that we might have abundance and have blessings favor and live life to the fullest in complete wholeness in every way.
We need to understand what we have available to us through the Word of God...
So we can claim that scripture ( as Jesus is, so are we) along with how Jesus did not lose a single one of what was given to Him.... Imagine this revelation..
Together this is an amazing combination of favor, of wisdom and the brilliant knowledge that we have available for us to speak over our lives and the lives of those we love...
The next thing that happens in this scripture is Peter leaping forward to (take matters into his own hands) by trying to defend Jesus..
How many times do we do that?
How many times do we step out and try to do it ourselves and force the issue?
Many times that leads us straight into sin... We must get out of our own way and trust that God's plans for us are always the best plans no matter what it looks like, no matter how bleak the circumstance...
We may have good intentions but sometimes we act so abruptly, we get into the flesh we lose our peace and our self-control and then it is "score one for the enemy..."
If Peter had had his way, Jesus would not have gone to the cross..God's plan for us of complete redemption would've been thwarted...
I ask you, where would we all be if Peter's plan was successful..? there would be
NO SALVATION
No hopes of ever
living in eternity with God..
But Jesus took the cup ..that cup of suffering that is so hard for us to ever even fathom, the magnitude of what He went through for us is incomprehensible
It was ultimately God's plan that prevailed!
So Father we thank you that your plan will prevail.. we thank you for the finished work your Son did on the cross and because of that,
We know what power and blessings we have available to us...
And we, being like Jesus in the world
Will not ever lose a single one of what you have given to us because we are as Jesus is ...
We will not take matters into our own hands...
But, we will trust you with every second of our lives ..thank you Father! we praise you..we worship you ...and we glorify your name! hallelujah! hallelujah! in Jesus name we pray
Amen!
