God wants us to live a balanced life… For many of us that seems like something very hard to accomplish and achieve. It seems as though many of us are juggling so many balls in the air at the same time and wearing too many hats.. It is hard to find time to just relax, rest and be in the presence of God. Yet it is only in that place, the quiet place, where we can sit, rest, and focus on the One who has the ability to restore us, to energize us… order our steps, and redeem the time.. will we be restored.
Is your life balanced?
Solomon 1:6
They have made me a keeper of vineyards but my own vineyard I have not kept.
What are the areas in your life that have been let go, that have been unkept, because you are too busy taking care of everyone and everything else? Are you always on the go and constantly working— never taking time for yourself, never spending enough time just resting in the presence of the Lord?
The enemy comes to ware out the Saints… If he can distract us with the constant issues of life, we can get off track, exhausted, worn out… and then it’s hard to hear from God… It’s hard to be used of God. We must seek time with the Lord so that He can minister to us...so that we can be filled up, refreshed, energized and equipped and able to minister to others.
God wants us to enjoy life and not to constantly feel exhausted and overwhelmed ..that is not God’s intention. Living a balanced life will bring peace, joy, rest, and abundant health.
The person speaking in the above scripture in song of Solomon was good at taking care of everyone else— but at what expense? Does it sound familiar that the overwhelming task of taking care of family, friends, and the constant to-do list at work and at home would bring us to a place of exhaustion where we are incapable of fulfilling our purpose in Christ?
He was surely neglecting to take care of himself. Are you feeling like that today? Are you running yourself ragged and not taking any time for yourself to just sit and be with the Lord? The enemie’s plans are to eventually burn you out. We must decide to seek God first each and every day and to begin investing in ourselves… Time with Jesus! When we put Him first, He will redeem the time and give us an anointing to do all the other things on our to-do lists with ease… Remember Jesus died for our yoke to be easy and our burdens to be light..
But when we don’t take time to hand our burdens off to the Lord, how can he make light of them?
Each of us must make a decision to begin investing in ourselves so that we are fully refreshed and ready to invest and minister to others around us… We must trust the Lord to rejuvenate us and refresh us emotionally, spiritually, and physically.… When we do this we will begin to affect others positively because we will have balance in our lives. We will begin to have a new joy because that time with the Lord will strengthen us.
We must remember that apart from God we can do nothing ..but we can certainly do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Phil 4:13
When we seek him with our whole hearts we will certainly find him...Jer 29:13
The Bible says in Psalm 84:11
that the Lord bestows favor and honor, no good thing will he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.
This is an awesome promise that God wants to pour out his abundant blessings on us .. he has abundant victory and favor ready for us...and when we seek him first, he will surely give it to us! Then, we will be fortified and ready for all that the day will bring us. We must live favor minded… And we must live with expectancy, expect to hear from God, expect him to bless you, expect him to order your steps, expect him to highly favor you, expect him to give you rest, expect him to restore you, and bless you. When we stay in the word and stay in the presence of God, the more favor we will begin to see.
Begin to declare God‘s peace and victory over your life, spend time with Him, seek him, know him, and know his Word...then let God order your steps as you walk in the spirit, refreshed, and ready for all that God has in store for you.
And He said, “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.
~Exodus 33:14
I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustains me.
~Psalm 3:5
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10)
declared it holy, because it was the day when He rested from all His work of creation.
~Genesis 2:3
Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God.
~Exodus 20:8-10
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him.
~Psalm 37:7
My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
~Psalm 62:1-2
